| KQET is a translator station for KQED San Francisco for the Salinas/Monterey area. It's located on Fremont Peak 115 miles away and has a surprisingly good signal. The antenna pattern in the FCC database says it has about 2KW ERP in my direction. Normally I can't receive it because it is co-channel with the very strong KOVR. Sometimes conditions are so good to Salinas that KQET overrides KOVR for a little while. I have never seen an identification that indicates you are watching KQET and not KQED. |
